Sonic Frames by Shomshuklla

MUMBAI: Shomshuklla, the poet, the dramatist, the actor, the columnist, the singer, is a master of all trades, jack of none. She has been around for a while now and has grown personally as well as professionally. As a singer, she has established herself in the industry within a short span of time. Debuted in December '98, there has been no turning back since then! With six albums launched till date (Four Indipop and two Rabindra Sangeet fusion), she has become a sensation in the country, especially West Bengal.

Her soft and sensuous voice, with a great lyrical blend mostly appeals to the intelligent & mature listener. However, her fan-following is from the younger generation as well who idolize her in more ways than one.

Her seventh album, Sonic Frames, releases this October under the umbrella of Times Music. This album is different from her previous ventures with newer soundscapes and melodies. The composer and arranger on this album, Ankur Mukherjee has proven to be the best support to the songstress. Not only does he understand her voice, nature and attitude, but also tries to reflect her traits in the compositions, complimenting each other on making the album a success.

The album features 12 tracks, 4 from the previous Shom-Ankur release titled Elektric'. The soulful tracks, CHALO SAATH MERE and AZAAD HOON MEIN touch your heart and makes way for the more up-beat AE RABBA TU.

To sum things up, SONIC FRAMES' is the album for today's generation. The music can't really be typecast into one single genre, but it is safe to call it a really brilliant fusion album. And that's just to say the least!
