India to debut at Karaoke World Championships 2011
MUMBAI: India will debut at the international karaoke event– �McDowell's No. 1 Soda Karaoke World Championships in association with VH1', to be held from 8th-10th September in Ireland.
KWC is conducted annually every September, drawing participation globally to battle for the world championship title. The member countries conduct local and national karaoke competitions and send winners to participate in the Championship.
Thirty-six countries are participating in the prestigious KWC 2011. The first Indian KWC city trials will be held in cities including Mumbai, Pune, Delhi, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Goa, Kolkata and Ludhiana. Winners of city trials will qualify for the zonal finals and three zonal finalists from each zone will comprise the twelve grand finalists to compete for the KWC Indian grand finale title, which will be held on Friday, 6 August in Mumbai.
The event is organised by Karaoke King, Savio D'Sa, in association with Nash Events.
Mumbai city trials held on 15th July will be judged by television and music personalities including Sumeet Sachdeva, Ishq Bector, Gitanjali More and Vipin Taneja. The competition will have a solo and a group round. The winning group will get the chance to meet the dynamic musical duo Vishal-Shekhar.
Two winners (One Male & One Female) will represent India at the Karaoke World Championships, 2011 in Ireland, winning (in addition to cash prizes, gift hampers and the Mc Dowell's Championship Trophy) a return trip to Killarney (Ireland), including free flight and accommodation, to fight for the KWC 2011 title. And the World Champions will win huge cash and sponsor prizes in addition to an international recording deal!
