Mandar Thakur to join Times Music as COO
MUMBAI: Mandar Thakur is set to join Times Music as Chief Operating Officer (COO) from Wednesday, the 15th of December. Confirming the development to RadioAndMusic.com, Thakur said, I am delighted to join Times Music, and will be working closely with the Times Music team and I look forward to unlocking the hidden value within the various areas of the music business....
Thakur was, till recently, General Manager of Soundbuzz, Asia/India's largest Online and Mobile Music distribution company, where he held responsibility for the India market for the group. Motorola acquired Soundbuzz in 2008, and after having concluded a successful transition and his commitments, Mandar moved on to pursue other interests in mid-2009. At Soundbuzz, Mandar and his colleagues were the visionaries responsible for pioneering the Asian/Indian Digital Music landscape and were the people behind several �firsts' in the digital business in Asia and India.
Prior to Soundbuzz , Thakur was part of the set-up- and India management team of the pioneering 24-hour Asian music television station Channel [V] ( part of the Rupert Murdoch-owned News Corporation's Star TV), and before that, worked in Hong Kong with The Entertainment Co./ Media Bank Group in the concert promotion business.
