Ritu Pathak has her plate full in 2012
MUMBAI: Upcoming singers in bollywood are now being given the opportunity to prove themselves with several films set to release soon. Former reality show participant and bollywood singer Ritu Pathak also has her kitty full for 2012 with more than six films in the pipeline.
The singer, who got her break with the song ‘Papa Jag Jaayega’ in Housefull, has been a former participant of singing reality show Indian Idol season 2. She has also sung for movies like Maximum, Double Dhamaal, Action Replay and Thank You amongst others.
Speaking about her projects with Radioandmusic.com, Pathak says, “It is after a lot of struggle and hard work that I have got such big projects. I began my journey from a small village, took part in reality shows and did lot of hard work to reach where I am today. I am really blessed to have got the opportunity to sing tracks in these films. But my wish to sing for the maestro AR Rahman one day remains.”
The versatile singer has a number of films lined up for release like ‘Kismat Love Paisa Dilli’ that will feature a romantic duet with Sonu Nigam composed by Amjad Nadeem. The film is slated to release in August this year. The singer has also rendered an item song for ‘Mr Money’, a Punjabi style track on Pritam’s composition for Ayan Mukherji’s ‘Jaawani Deewani’ and a title track for Abbas Mustan’s ‘Race 2’ composed by Pritam as well.
Pathak also has films like ‘Mumbai Mirror’ comprising an item song composed by Anand Raj Anand and an untitled track in a controversial movie based on Rakhi Sawant and Baba Ramdev titled ‘Halla Ho Jaayega’. The singer is also in talks to render a track for Sanjay Gupta’s upcoming Indian crime film ‘Shootout at Wadala’.
Adding up to her popularity, the singer will perfrom a number of live concerts across the country. Two independent concerts are scheduled each in Ranchi on 15 July and in Jaipur on 1 August. Pathak will also perform a special concert on 30 August in Kuwait with a host of popular bollywood singers. She is also in talks with singer Himmesh Reshammiya for a host of concerts in August.
“Apart from my bollywood films, I am also trying to create a presence by performing concerts in various cities. July and August is a fully packed schedule in terms of the concerts lined up and I am looking forward to perform in cities and meeting people,” she states.
Apart from the bouquet of bollywood films, the singer is also currently hosting a show titled ‘Retrospective Special’ on DD1. Launched recently, the show airs at 12:30pm every Sunday and features interesting trivia about movies from the golden era.
