T-Series plan to make 6-7 films this year
MUMBAI: Basking in the glory of Aashiqui 2, the Indian music major, T-Series announced their host of upcoming films. Head of T-Series Bhushan Kumar stated that there will be films made with mixed budget.
Kumar said, “Prior to Nautanki Saala and Aashiqui 2, we made one film in two years or so. But with a strong sense of music, good scripts in hand, with a dedicated in-house team we now plan to make 6-7 mixed budget films a year.”
Bhushan added, “We wish to give our audience varied genre films that will be accepted by the masses. Right from family relations to friendships, from sc-fi to action drama we want our audience to enjoy different sort of films. With movies like Yaariyan and Creature already on floors, Umesh Shukla’s untitled, Roy and Bhoothnath 2 will go on floors soon for the next year release.”
The production house is all set to venture in different genres of cinema. ‘Yaariyan’, a youth based film. With Divya’s film on friendship, T-Series to produce ‘Bhoothnath 2’ with B R Chopra films with Amitabh Bachchan reviving his role as the friendly ghost also starring Boman Irani.dha
T-Series will also enter the forte of sci-fi thriller with Vikram Bhatt's Creature 3D starring Bipasha Basu and Imran Abbas. Venturing in genres like youth film, relationships, thriller, T-Series will also release romantic-action-drama with Ranbir Kapoor playing the title role of ‘Roy’ along with Arjun Rampal as a writer and Jacqueline Fernandez. Yet another film is ‘Umesh Shukla’s untitled’ that is a social drama with dash of humor that speaks about father-son relationship with Abhishek Bachchan in the lead and Rishi Kapoor as his father.
Along with the wide range of films already in production for 2014 release, T-Series also have films that are in scripting stage. T-Series has announced Dil Hai Ki Manta Nahi with Vishesh Films. The production house has also roped in directors like Madhur Bhandarkar and Milan Luthria for their future projects that are in scripting stage.
