Universal Music releases audio of Malayalam film 'Friday'
MUMBAI: Strengthening its regional music repertoire, Universal Music India has released the music of yet another Malayalam film 'Friday'.
The music has been released worldwide on CDs, mobile and digital platforms. Composed by Roby Abraham, the music album comprises of four tracks penned by Beeyar Prasad with the background music (BGM) of Rex Vijayan. The track list includes songs like 'Oolathil Chanchadi' (Ponchural) by Vijay Yesudas and Ajay Thilak, 'Aaraaro Aaromale' by Reshmi Sateesh, 'Nlaavaay Pookkum' by Anoop Sanker and 'Sugandha Neerala' by Najeem Arshad and Gayatri Asokan.
Universal Music India general manager: digital PK Prasannan said, "The music of 'Friday' has been released worldwide by Universal Music India Private Limited on CDs, Digital platforms and also as a Mobile Application. This is the first time ever that a Malayalam movie has an exclusive Mobile Application running around it. It's a 360 degree android application which includes info on the movie, the music, the images, etc. The mechanism of this mobile application is such that one can not only listen to the songs but also sing along with the karaoke tracks. Another unique feature is the availability of the lyrics while the tracks are playing. Friday '1 Day Many stories' free as well as paid apps are available on Google play store globally from 9 August onwards.
The film tells the life stories of many people who arrive into a town on Friday 11 November 2011 (11-11-11) to mess up their life into confusing proportions.
"There are 48 characters featuring in this film and all of them are known faces from the Malayalam film industry. Even though there may be small characters, they will all be remembered by the people," director Lijin Jose said.
