Will.i.am's Music Group will be in UK

MUMBAI: California native singer Will.i.am has moved his record label from the US to the UK because he likes the fresh vibe of British music. As per reports, The Black Eyed Peas member was inspired during his time as a judge on 'The Voice’ to take this step.

The 'Bang Bang' hitmaker is hoping to find fresh new talent to sign his Music Group banner. Boom Boom Pow singer has been based in London while judging the show 'The Voice'.

As per reports, he said, "My label is now based in the UK. I had a label over in America, (Black Eyed Peas bandmate) Fergie signed to my label and LMFAO and Macy Gray and Black Eyed Peas and I thought, you know what, I want to base my label out in the UK, because I like this place, it`s fresh." The E.N.D singer has signed UK-based Cheryl Cole under his banner.

In collaborations and with the Black Eyed Peas, he has a total of 34 Top 40 entries on the UK singles chart since 1998, and has sold 9.4 million singles in the UK.

"Why was I making music in America when it succeeds first in the UK? That's dumb. I've got a global perspective, thinking global and acting local," he stated.

British television talent show The Voice is based on the concept of The Voice of Holland.
