This year's one of the big production Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara' album has finally entered the music market. The combination of musical geniuses like Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy and Javed Akhtar definitely aroused the expectation of the album, but seems like trio decided to play it safe keeping the flavor of the album subtle.
The album sets off with a lively track Dil Dhadakne Do' sung by Shankar Mahadevan, Suraj Jagan and Joi Barua. With strumming guitar riff, pumping beats and hummable lyrics the song succeeds in thrusting zeal within listeners.
Ik Junoon (Paint it red)' the second track of the album is loaded with delightful vocals and brisk arrangements, but still falls in the consistent category of Bollywood number. The song fails to register the intensity of the videos which is filled with fun and energy and makes it to an average ranking. The remix version of the song is more addictive compare to the original.
Khaabon ke Parinday' brings in a much desired change in the album with soothing jazz influence and orchestration. Alyssa Mendonsa's melodic vocals and Mohit Chauhan's eclectic voice churns out the romantic feel in the song.
The fourth track is one of the most talked and hyped song of the album – Senorita'. The USP of the track is the fact that it's sung by three main lead actors Hrithik Roshan, Farhan Akhtar, Abhay Deol. Thus, raising the anticipation and questions, how the song might be? The vocals though technically auto-tuned it blends beautifully with the latino singer Maria Del Mar Fernandez,' with the flow of Spanish and Hindi lyrics throughout the song. The cuatro (Spanish guitar) and flamenco beats gives a refreshing feel to the album and makes it a good salsa number. The remix version of the songs goes high on beats.
'Der lagi lekin' is a slow paced track sung by Shankar Mahadevan and is one of the most tedious songs of the album.
The next refreshing track Sooraj ki Baahon mein', brings back the energy and fun with some vocal variations. Lyric crooned by Loy, Dominique, and Clinton Cerejo instantly registers with listener and is the easiest song for the Karaoke nights.
The last song of the album Toh Zindagi Ho Tum' is a monologue by Farhan Aktar with soft acoustic tunes at the background.
Shankar Ehsaan Loy with this album has taken music back to its basics, delivering some simple yet groovy tracks. The album is customary and nothing out of the box.
