MUMBAI: Shreya Ghoshal and Atif Aslam are as different as chalk and cheese. From the types of songs they have sung to their geographical locations. However, there is one thing for which their fans come together- their music. Apart from sharing the same birthdays, which is today, 12 March, both singers are blessed with spellbinding voices. Radioandmusic.com brings to you duets by the two birthday babies- Ghoshal and Aslam.
Piya O Re Piya: In this romantic track from the film ‘Tere Naal Love Ho Gaya’, Ghoshal and Aslam have strummed the right chords. The film starring the lovely Genelia D'Souza and Riteish Deshmukh did not do particularly well at the box office but ‘Piya O Re Piya’ still qualifies in playlists. The song was penned by Priya Panchal and was composed by the music composer duo Sachin Jigar.
Jeene Laga Hu: Who could forget the soulful composition of ‘Jeene Laga Hu’ from the film ‘Ramaiya Vastavaiya’? Composed by Sachin Jigar and written by Priya Panchal, the track features Shruti Hasan and Girish Kumar. The compositions are extremely simple and soothing, but the voices of Shreya and Atif take the track to a different level altogether.
Rang Jo Lagyo: Another song from ‘Ramaiya Vastavaiya’, ‘Rang Jo Lagyo’ has a long lasting impact. Aslam has a larger chunk of the song whilst Ghoshal chips in with a few lines. Composed by Sachin Jigar and penned by Priya Panchal, the song received a lot of positive responses.
Bairiyaa: ‘Bairiyaa’ is another mesmersing track by Atif and Shreya, also from the same film ‘Ramaiya Vastavaiya’. The track is a lilt slow at the start but once it proceeds, it just picks up and you wish to listen to the song on loop.
Tere Liye: Written by Sameer and composed by Sachin Gupta, ‘Tere Liye’ from the film ‘Prince’ dominated the charts for quite a while. The song takes you back to the 80s and gives you a disco like feeling. The upbeat vocals by Ghoshal and Aslam make the track impressive.
Radioandmusic.com wishes Atif Aslam and Shreya Ghoshal a Happy Birthday, and may they continue to bring us more music in the years to come.
