MUMBAI: Oppo recently announced the launch of its gilded version of the Oppo R5 smartphone. The limited edition smartphone comes with a luxurious gold frame and is scheduled to be available in the market from 20 February onwards. There are only 10,000 units of the smartphone available globally. The smartphone is available across India only through pre-booking.

Speaking on the limited edition piece, Oppo India CEO Tom Lu said, "This phone has been developed with the end user in mind. The gold frame has been forged nine times and then finished by hand to give a perfect sheen and feel."

The smartphone features a 5.2-inch full-HD AMOLED display. It comes with 16GB internal storage which cannot be expanded using a microSD card slot. It is powered by a 1.5GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 octa core 64bit processor, Adreno 405 GPU and 2GB of RAM. The Oppo R5 gets several connectivity options such as 4G LTE (including Indian 4G bands), 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0 and GPS.

The smartphone also sports a 13MP camera on the rear with Sony Exmor IMX214 BSI sensor and a 5MP front facing camera with 83degree wide angle lens. It runs on Color OS 2.0, based on Android 4.4 and is packed with 2000mAh battery.

The device is available at a price of Rs 29,990 till stocks last.
