MUMBAI: Ghazal maestro Talat Aziz has debuted as a music director with the film 'Majaz' which will release on 25 August 2016.
Aziz has composed the music as well as lent his voice to the songs in the film, accompanied by Sonu Nigam and Alka Yagnik. Although, the singer has given music to various television serials in the past, this is the first time he has crooned for a film.
Majaz has a soundtrack of 12 songs out of which 'ghazal' and 'nazam' are yet again part of our music industry.
Majaz director Ravinder Singh said, "Aziz has done a par excellence justice as the Music Director of Majaz (Ae Gham-e-Dil Kya Karun). He has not only played with the strings to pour the soul but also given his soulful voice to the songs in the film, which will be a golden treasure to Indian Cinema and find a place in the ace book of songs."
Talat said, "The lodestone of 'Majaz' is its music. I have tried my best to do justice as the music director of Majaz."
Majaz is a biopic on the life of Asrarul Haq Majaz Lakhnavi, who was also the maternal uncle of Bollywood lyricist Javed Akhtar. The film depicts the story of the poet and the ups and downs in his professional life, setbacks with love and fragmentation with family.
The director of the movie is Ravinder Singh while Priyanshu Chatterjee and Rashmi Sharma are the main leads in the film.
