MUMBAI: While there is a huge buzz about Sunburn, the biggest commercial EDM festival of India, no one seems sure of where and when exactly it will happen.

Radioandmusic.com contacted Sunburn Global and Percept Live CEO Karan Singh for details. "Yes, we are moving out of Goa as there are issues with the Goa Tourism Department. It is definitely not Aamby Valley or Lonavla. The location for this year's event will be in the hills of the Western Ghats where we have amazing weather, lush greenery, tranquil ambience and much more. Details of a New S?unburn in its 10th edition ???will be unveiled by next week,'' stated Singh.

He also said that he does not think Sunburn will lose its charm if it moves out of Goa as it will be an absolutely 'New Sunburn' in this 10th edition. Hold on, dates of Sunburn 2016 have also changed, 28-31 December 2016.

Singh said the whole set up will be massive and much more organised this year. ''The location is more than 100 acres compared to the audience, and it is much more accessible from Mumbai and reasonably priced compared to Goa,'' added he.

Our sources tell us, “This time it is going to happen somewhere near Pune. Aamby valley won't work, as there is not enough accommodation and it will be small like Enchanted Valley Carnival. Aamby Valley has restrictions on liquor being brought in from outside too. Sunburn will happen in a place which has room for many and is easily accessible to a major city, perhaps in the hilly areas of Pune.''

Conversely, even as Vh1 Supersonic pulled out of Goa, fresh winds appear to be blowing. Goa chief minister Laxmikant Parsekar told the media recently that his government is not unwilling to consider one application for hosting a music festival in the coastal state.

''We will not have any problem if there is only one event,'' he said to another publication.

The Goa Tourism Department spokesperson has said, “Sunburn Festival’s application to host the 2016 edition in Goa is still pending as the decision makers are not available at this point of time.”

This could signify that Sunburn Festival still has reasonable chances to happen in Goa in its tenth year!

When we asked Karan what if the Goa Government gives the permit for Sunburn’s 10th edition, he said, “We never got anything concrete from Goa Tourism Department. I am not the single decision maker here, if something happens like that, we will take action consequently.”

With December approaching rapidly, everyone is waiting for the official announcement especially since a large number of people have already bought passes, booked hotels and flight tickets for the festival keeping Goa in their mind.

Then again, as a part of the 10th year celebration of the leading festival Sunburn, it’s been established that it’s not going to be Goa. Sunburn put up a teaser video with a #SunburnHills on 23 October 2016 on their official Facebook page.

Any guesses?

While the assumption is still strongly leaning towards to Pune the ‘Queen of Deccan’ let us wait for Sunburn Festival to make the final venue announcement for its 2016 edition.
