MUMBAI: Singer Mel C, who was the artist best known as Sporty Spice, says it was fitness that helped her recover from a serious eating disorder when she was a part of pop group Spice Girls.
Mel C, whose real name is Melanie Chisholm, opened up about her extreme self-consciousness at the age of 20 and how she recovered, in a brief tell all with BBC Good Food, reports dailymail.co.uk.
The 42-year-old said: "I joined the Spice Girls when I was 20 and it was an insane time. I developed an eating disorder. I was in the spotlight, being photographed constantly, and I started to become self-conscious of my body image. I was in denial for a long time but I always wanted to get better - I had talking therapies and holistic therapies, like acupuncture."
On the work front, she has come out with her new single "Version of me".
