MUMBAI: The controversy around RJ Malishka and the ruling party of Maharashtra, Shiv Sena, seemed like a little cracker in the sky until last week, but now it’s ready to take down both RJ Malishka and Red FM.
The issue started with Red FM's Mumbai Khadde Mein campaign pointing fingers at BMC with their Sonu Song Pothole Mix. The line that led to maximum chaos was, Mumbai, tula BMC var bharosa nay kaay (Mumbai, don’t you trust BMC), this got Shiv Sena furious. In fact, one of the Corporators of the party, Kishori Pednekar did hit back in the Sena style, by making a song Yedpat Malishka tula swataha var bharosa nay kaay (Malishka, don’t you trust yourself).

And now this has taken a different turn, with Shiv Sena Corporator Samadhan Sada Sarvankar on Tuesday having requested the BMC Commissioner to file a case of defamation of Rs 500 crore against the Radio Channel.
The copy submitted to the commissioner states that, whatever is said in the song, is not correct because the song only points out fingers at BMC for all the potholes in the city, which should not be the case. There are various lands which come under various other Government bodies like MMRD, PWD, MSRDC, MUIP and Airport Authority. So, why BMC is the only one to be blamed?

The BMC too hasn’t taken this lightly and has sent a legal notice to RJ Malishka’s mother for mosquitoes breeding -- on a clay bowl kept under the pot, as well as on plant pots of her house.
However, in an interesting twist of events, Congress MLA Nitesh Rane has come in the open to support the RJ. The MLA took to Twitter to show his support to Malishka. His post read - Malishka tu ekti nahi, aamhi aahot tujhya barobar. Vaghoba kartoy myau myau, aamhi aani Malishka bahin bhav (Malishka you’re not along. The tiger is meowing but we are brother and sister).
Malishka too went on to thank all her supporters this morning -

Our team tried to contact the RJ to know her take on this, but her phone was switched off.
Let’s see, how the RJ and the channel would react to this issue.
