MUMBAI: The Remix, Amazon India’s first ever music Prime Original series is gathering plenty attention for its interesting line-up of judges and contestants. The show that will have a DJ and a singer pair together as contestants will be judged by music industries finest talents, Sunidhi Chauhan, Amit Trivedi and Nucleya. The latter currently rules the indie space and is making his presence felt in Bollywood. The Remix happens to be his first reality show as a judge.
On his collaboration with Amazon India, he says, “I was told that they want me to associate with this and my management company at that time was OML and I think Amit Trivedi was very persistent that they involve me into this. That’s how it all started.”
Giving an insight into The Remix he states, “The show would be authentic, I really don’t think we took any retakes. Also, the show is very spontaneous, there is nice music and it’s not scripted at all. We are allowed to say whatever we want to which is incredible. The show is quite balanced as not only the singer would get the spotlight but also the producer. This is one of the main reason why I got involved in this. I really pushed all the contestants as much as I could so that they are confident ahead. At the show, we gave them ample creative freedom to do what they want.”
Nucleya has come a long way from where he started and The Remix will definitely be a landmark in his career. “Me giving this interview and being a part of the show is a dream come true for any DJ. Almost 10-15 years back, it was often looked down on being a DJ as I have gone through it myself. People used to tell me ‘Tu toh shaadi mein dj’ing karta hoga na’ from there to here. Being seated next to these two legends was a Grammy winning moment for me. I feel The Remix is a big platform for the younger audience, it’s an incredible amount of confidence-boost to people out there. You don’t have to be in the film industry, there is a parallel line and I am an example of it.”
The Paintra music composer shares a short message with the audience on The Remix, he says, “Please watch this show. I think the show is important for the future generations as well.”
Everybody has a watch on The Bass Raja’s next move and here he gives us a glimpse, “I have started working on my new album, the album would be out hopefully in August. I have 20 per cent of the album done, in terms of production I have 50 per cent concept ready. I do not have a genre. I do experiment with everything. Also, for our next sub cinema, we are going to push the envelope to another level.”
Well the DJ has Bollywood projects lined up this 2018, “I have recorded a song with Benny Dayal which has shaped really well. The other day I played the song to Vishal Dadlani and he liked the track and asked me and I will put this song in a Tamil movie and I am working on another song with Sunidhi Chauhan. There is another song which I have worked on with my favourite singer,” reveals Nucleya with excitement on his face.
