Mumbai: It’s impossible to have not noticed the song Tareefan from Veere Di Wedding. A song that has re- defined glamour and glitz, is “never heard and never seen before” extravaganza for fans. A sleek video featuring two of the most glamorous leading ladies of Bollywood, Kareena Kapoor Khan and Sonam Kapoor, with glimpses of Swara Bhasker, Shikha Tanksalia and Sumeet Vyas,  grooving to a sassy number, which is composed by Qaran Mehta.

Qaran, a multi prolific artiste who dons the hat of composer, rapper and DJ, was given the responsibility to compose the promotional song for the much awaited Veer Di Wedding. Qaran shares, “Rhea (Rhea Kapoor, producer of Veer Di Wedding) approached me and asked to listen to some of my work. She really liked what she heard and given which we decided to collaborate. She didn’t give me any specific brief, just said that compose something that you would like to hear yourself again and again.” And that’s how one of the grooviest tracks in the recent times happened.

The song also holds the distinction for being the first song that Badshah has not only rapped but also sang and co-written the lyrics for. The composer is thrilled to work with the sensational rapper for latter’s first official singing track. “Well, this time the audience will hear Badshah in a different manner. He has sung along with rapping, which is quite exciting. What else to say, Badshah is Baadshah,” says the composer.

The video, since its preproduction stage has made quite some buzz and now with the release of it, everyone is spellbound. What makes the video different is that there is male playback for female actors. Qaran says, “I have lot of faith in Rhea Kapoor that what she will do, will be the best.”

The composer has extensively worked in both international and domestic set ups and has clear opinions about the operations. “Both the industries operate in very different manners. In the west, everything is structured so certainly the process is smooth. But what I love about India is the constantly changing dynamics, culture, technology. India has endless potential.”

Moving forward, Qaran has lot of exciting work in store to be presented, “I have two singles that people should watch out for. I usually engage in Pop music sound with lot of experimental sounds, that hasn’t been heard yet. My sound and vibe are very urban with western influences and both my next singles which are expected in next two months, reflect it too.”

Apart from singles Qaran has couple of Bollywood movies in pipeline but he says, “As of now can’t comment on it.”
