MUMBAI: After composing music for hit Marathi films such as 'Mitwaa', 'Pyaar Wali Love Story' and 'Classmates', music producer Amitraj has his hands full with not one, not even two, but three upcoming Marathi films this season. These films are 'Vrindavan', 'Gentleman' and 'Welcome Zindagi.'
Speaking about his compositions for the aforementioned films, he said that he is the sole composer for 'Vrindavan', which is a remake of a south Indian film of the same name. The director of the original film – TVL Prasad, is to direct the Marathi remake, revealed Amitraj. He also said that, he shares music composition duties with Pankaj Padghan for 'Gentleman' and 'Welcome Zindagi'. For 'Welcome Zindagi', Amitraj and Pankaj Padghan are joined by Shamir Tandon and Soumil-Siddharth as music composers for the film.
On the music 'Vrindavan', Amitraj said, “There are altogether four songs in the film, of which two are still being worked on. The ones that have been recorded include one song called 'Aaj Premachi', which is a love song duet sung by Harsh and Anandi Joshi. It is a very different song, because I have given a very different treatment to it. It is a very Arijit Singh-type contemporary song. The other song is very 'dhamaal' song through which we introduce the leading protagonist of the film."
Along with 'Vrindavan', Amitraj is also working on another Marathi film called 'Gentleman', for which he has, so far, composed one song, which Amitraj said, “It is a cute, fun, romantic love song called 'Ka Jeev Tola Tola'.” Amitraj also hinted that is most likely that multiple Filmfare Award winner Sonu Nigam will be lending his vocals for the track.
In addition to 'Vrindavan' and 'Gentleman', Amitraj is also composing a track for the upcoming Marathi film 'Welcome Zindagi', whose music launch is scheduled for 2 May.
