MUMBAI: He’s best remembered for the famous remake of the track ‘Aaj Phir Tumpe.’ The composer of the track, Arko Pravo Mukherjee has yet again remade the song ‘Iss Qadar Pyar Hai’ for the film ‘Bhaag Johnny.’ The new melody has been crooned by Ankit Tiwari.

“After I made ‘Aaj Phir Tumpe,’ Bhushan ji asked me to remake another track and he had a few melodies in mind. I picked up this beautiful track ‘Is Qadar Pyar Hai,’ which is my personal favourite that is sung by Sonu Nigam and composed by Sajid Wajid,” said Mukherjee.

The only brief that was given to him was that the track had to be mellowed down, while retaining the elements of romance. He wanted a modern singer to sing this track and that’s how Tiwari, who sports a different singing style, was zeroed in on. The track was composed a year ago.

After the track was made, T-Series head honcho Bhushan Kumar was scouting for the film in which the song could be included. They finally identified ‘Bhaag Johnny’ as the perfect fit for the song.

When it comes to picking singers for his tracks, Mukherjee said that he makes three or four singers croon the tracks and then finalises the best version. “I am a very bad judge. Until I do not hear someone sing, I cannot say who should be called and who could sing better,” he explained.

According to him, if a singer is good if he can grasp the feeling of the song and deliver the same on the mic.

Mukherjee has also composed a couple of songs in the Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Irrfan Khan and Shabana Azmi starrer ‘Jazbaa’.
