MUMBAI: The duo weaves magic by composing tunes like 'Chak De! India', 'Aaja Nachle' and many more. Now Salim Sulaiman intends to launch a couple of singles, of which one of the tracks will be released for Eid. According to the two, label companies have forced artistes to turn venture into the indie space.
"The dominance of label companies is why most Bollywood music sounds the same and there is no outlet for good music. This is forcing artistes to turn towards the indie space, which is why Salim and I have decided to launch a couple of singles every year. We are currently working on those," said Sulaiman.
The duo also plans to come up with the second edition of their US Tour in a bigger and a better way. Sulaiman stated that they are always in search of a voice that is original and can sing really well. According to him picking a singer for a song is as good as casting an actor in the film.
A number of veteran Bollywood musicians have said that the Bollywood has stopped producing singers like Sonu Nigam and Shreya Ghoshal to which Sulaiman commented, "Actually according to me, it takes time for a singer to become a 'Sonu Nigam' or a 'Sunidhi Chauhan'. So let us give time to these artistes rather than just commenting about them," he said.
The composer has been approached by a couple of channels for judging a reality show, but he is still indecisive about the same. Sulaiman will also present an award at the Artist Aloud Music Awards.
