MUMBAI: On the occasion of Eid, Bollywood music composer duo Salim Sulaiman has given their fans a small ‘Eidi’ in the form of their latest single- ‘Astagfirullah’. The lyrics of the song have been penned by Irfan Siddiqui, and vocals rendered by one half of the duo- Salim Merchant.
“The word ‘Astaghafirullahi’ comes from the phrase ‘Astaghafirullahi Rabbi Wa Atubu Ilayhi’. This means ‘I seek the forgiveness of Allah, for all my wrong doings’. The song was recorded three or four months ago,” said Sulaiman. The music video was shot in Kraków, Poland and features the two composers.
Salim Sulaiman took to their Facebook page and shared the experience of making the single. “We’ve really enjoyed making this song for?#?Eid. Filming this in Kraków, Poland was quite an experience. It wasn't easy to get there and place cameras in the middle of the field. We had to wrap a big plastic sheet around us so that we don't stain our clothes while getting there. We used a heavy duty drone to capture all the aerial shots,” they wrote in a Facebook post.
Apart from ‘Astaghafirullahi’, the duo has recorded two more singles, and has completed shooting for both videos. However, when asked when the other two tracks would be released, Sulaiman refused to reveal the dates.
