MUMBAI: Legendary Canadian singer-songwriter Bryan Adams will light up home-grown arenas on a five-date greatest hits India tour in October 2018 for his nineteenth concert tour. The gigs are lined up in support of the music veteran’s current 21 track compilation, Ultimate, which released in November last year. The tour kicks off on with Ahmedabad and wraps up in the capital, New Delhi. Also included on the jaunt are festival stops in Mumbai, Hyderabad and Bengaluru. This event is produced by ENIL and has partnered with Infibeam Digital Entertainment Pvt. Ltd. for Ahmedabad. While Bryan Adams has performed in India previously, his fifth outing on local shores promises to be one of the biggest productions of the year. The legendary musician has performed in India four times before, the first being in 1995, followed by 2001 and 2003, and the last being ‘The Bare Bones Tour’ in 2011.
The Ultimate Tour will see the multi-million selling recording perform material from the fourteenth studio album, which features a mix of new tracks and enormous hits from an incredible back-catalogue. The aim of Ultimate was to condense Bryan Adams’ extensive back catalogue – 13 studio albums, 5 live albums, 5 compilation albums and over 75 singles – into a 21-track offering guaranteed to capture the true essence of the celebrated hitmaker’s much-celebrated career.
The 58-year-old vegan Vancouverite who enjoys the reputation of being able to sell out arena bowls will entertain the audience with universal hits like hits Run To You, Can’t Stop This Thing We Started, Summer of 69, Cuts Like A Knife, Heaven, Run To You, When You’re Gone, Cloud Number Nine, Everything I Do I Do It For You, Have You Ever Really Loved a Woman, All for Love as well as Ultimate Love and Please Stay
The rocker turned photographer, activist and philanthropist and father of two- sold out the first concert of the tour in New Zealand without much advance press and thereafter has successfully toured in 53 cities already this year across 4 continents on his Ultimate Tour to sold-out stadiums and arenas.
Renowned the world over for his signature brand of feel-good rock and roll and big ballads, Bryan Adams is an icon of epic proportions. With multiple awards under his belt, including 20 Juno Awards from 56 nominations, 15 Grammy Award nominations, with one win, and three Academy Award nominations for songs he has written. He has won the Order of Canada and the Order of B.C. for his contributions to music and charities. His charitable work includes Amnesty International, Greenpeace, PETA and Live Aid. His Bryan Adams Foundation, funded mostly by his photography projects, supports educational opportunities for children worldwide and is solid evidence that his impact on pop culture goes way beyond just music.
Bryan Adams states, "Namaste India. At the onset, I'd like to wish each one of you a very happy Independence Day. India is one of my favourite places in the whole world. The love and generosity that I have experienced here are immense and I am eternally grateful to ENIL for the opportunity to perform again in this beautiful country.”
ENIL COO Mahesh Shetty states, “Bryan Adams is one of the most exciting live musicians in the world and his energetic performance, effortless stage presence and incredible vocals are guaranteed to thrill and entertain. For a lot of Indians, Bryan Adams was the introduction to the sheer simplicity and awesomeness of rock’n’roll. His first concert in India was in 1995 in Mumbai which set a precedent for other global artists who wished to perform in India. He enjoys a devout following in India with most of his albums becoming super hits in the sub-continent. We are extremely excited to bring forth this tour to India and anticipate a total sell out. We firmly believe that his music and lyrics cut across generations and we are looking forward to seeing a lot of his die-hard, as well as first time fans, feel the ‘Summer of 69’ for the October tour.”
