HTC Smart to be launched in India

HTC has announced to launch its new handset HTC Smart in India next month.

This mobile device is said to be the first non-smartphone from the company as it is powered by BREW. HTC is known for its smartphones powered by Google Android and Windows Mobile platforms.

The handset runs on a 300 MHz processor. It has a 2.8 inches TFT touchscreen display, 256MB RAM, 256MB ROM, USB, GPRS/EDGE, Bluetooth, 3G Connectivity and so on. Its other features includes a 3.15 megapixel camera with autofocus and LED flash, audio and video player, stereo FM radio with RDS, Sense UI, Accelerometer, 16 GB expandable memory, 3.5 mm audio jack, 1100 mAh battery, upto 450 hours stand-by time and 7 hours talk-time. Wi-fi and GPS are missing features in the handset.

The handset will first be launched in India and will then be unveiled in other European countries in April. HTC is reportedly planning to invest about $1 million for its launch in India.

It is available at a price tag of Rs 10,000.
