Nokia to launch C5 in second quarter

MUMBAI: Announcing another addition in its C series smartphones, Nokia has unveiled the C5, to be launched in the second quarter of the year.

Powered with Symbian S60 3rd edition, the handset sports bright 2.2-inch display with up to 16.7 million colors, 3.2 megapixel full focus camera with auto focus and LED flash, social networking support and also comes packing free walk and drive navigation with Ovi Maps 3.0 support.

It supports feature where in users can see friends status updates directly from social networking site Facebook as well as user can also update their statues directly from phonebook. Phone home screen, user can define up to 3 friends and user can send IM messages to them via Google Talk, Windows Live Messenger and Yahoo! Mail via Nokia Messaging service.

With internal memory of 50 MB, the handset has expandable up to 16 GB memory and company a 2GB microSD card in the box. Phone features with GPS receiver with A-GPS support n. But the main disappointment from Nokia, C5 doesn't have Wi-Fi connectivity. Other features includes, built in stereo FM radio and 3.5mm AV connector, stereo speakers, Bluetooth, Secondary camera for video calls, 5 way Navigation key and two soft keys and Ovi services.

The handset has 12 hours talk time (GSM), up to 26 days standby and up to 36 hours music playback with BL-5CT 860 mAh Li-Ion battery. The handset will be available in the second quarter of 2010 globally in Europe, Eurasia, SEAP, China and MEA in white and warm grey colors priced approximately at 135 euro (Rs. 8400 Approx).
