RIM's Blackberry launched through Airtel, Vodafone

MUMBAI: RIM's BlackBerry Pearl Flip 8220 smartphone is now available in India through Airtel and Vodafone network carriers.

Some of its notable features are built-in Wi-Fi (802.11 b/g) that supports extended data coverage, fast Web browsing, SureType keyboard, media player for music, video and pictures with full-screen video playback, QVGA 2.4-inch diagonal display and an external display to view calendar reminders, email, text messages and phone calls.

The BlackBerry Pearl Flip smartphone includes Web browsing, text messaging and picture messaging. It also offers a 2 MP camera with digital zoom, flash and video recording, stereo Bluetooth support, 1GB microSD card, memory card slot for up to 16GB of additional storage per card and 3.5mm stereo headset jack.

Measuring 101mm x 50 mm x 17.5 mm and weighing about 102 grams, this Quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE/Wi-Fi phone also supports international roaming. It comes with Media management software including the BlackBerry Media Sync application.

The RIM BlackBerry Pearl Flip 8220 is priced at Rs.21,990. It is now available through Airtel authorized channels and select Vodafone Stores.
