BIG 92.7 FM, Gujarat celebrates Children's Week

MUMBAI: BIG 92.7 FM, India's No. 1 FM Station, in its continual effort to contribute positively to the society, and impact listeners' lives positively, will celebrate Children's Day with a difference. Instead of a one-day celebration, BIG FM's all the three stations in Gujarat – Surat, Vadodara and Rajkot have made it a week-long affair, with a host of exciting on-air & off-air offerings.

The celebrations started from Sunday where BIG 92.7 FM's Surat team took the kids of an orphanage out on a treat. The children were shown a movie at a multiplex and dined at a popular city restaurant. On the same day, BIG FM Rajkot went to slum areas of the city distributing gifts to the little ones.

During the week, BIG FM Vadodara plans to take out another �Go Green – Say No to Plastic' procession aimed at spreading awareness about Global warming and harmful effects of using plastic, which is mainly driven by school children. On Children's Day Vadodara BIG FM shall visit Don Bosco Snehalaya that cares for over 700 street children. Children will have fun with BIG FM team playing games and eating sweets & snacks courtesy Cherries restaurant.

On Children's Day BIG FM Surat team, shall visit Mahajan Orphanage and treat the children with sweets, snacks and lots of fun activities. Similarly in Rajkot, BIG FM shall visit Mother Teresa Ashram which mainly houses mentally retarded and physically challenged children. In addition to making the day special for the kids with food, gifts and fun-filled activities, BIG FM Rajkot shall also make monetary donation to the Ashram. The donations are being collected by BIG FM team from its generous listeners.

On Air, all the three stations shall run a program called �Bol Bacche Bol' in which bright kids shall accompany BIG FM RJs all day in the studio and take calls from the listeners. They shall talk about �Mere Sapno ka Bharat' on air and also about Chacha Nehru, whose birthday is commemorated as Children's Day.

Speaking on the occasion, Arjun Singgh Baran, Regional Director - West, BIG 92.7 FM, said Children's Day or no Children's Day, we at BIG FM constantly do our bit for children that are in need – Mother's Day, World Food Day, Independence Day…on all such occasions, we have visited various slum areas and places housing street children to share with them, whatever joy we can. We have also from time to time taken up causes like Global Warming etc and specifically involved children in these activities so that they take up these issues seriously as they grow up  Our brand philosophy is about making the Life of our listeners and this inspires us not to miss a single opportunity to do so.
