Delhi Rocks to Enthralling Live Performance by Advaita, Mummy Daddy Collective (feat. Amrish Kumar) and Jalebee Cartel
MUMBAI: Saturday evening at Delhi's Garden of Five Senses reverberated to the eclectic sounds of Mummy Daddy Records, a compilation of various music artists. Mummy Daddy Records is a fusion of India's best alternative musical talent brought together from various genres.
Ensconced in the Garden of Five Senses, behind the garden restaurant magique, the amphitheatre had a setting for a perfect audiovisual stage for the concert where a montage of images of each one's musical journey was projected The mix of well-known acts such as Advaita, Mummy Daddy Collective and Jalebee Cartel brought about an innovative presentation of talent on stage.
Speaking on the occasion, Amrish Kumar, Creative Director, Mummy Daddy Records (MDR) said, MDR was conceived with the passion to bring to the forefront, the nascent world of underground Indian music. With this album we hope to develop and full fill the demand for new niches in the music industry, to transgress boundaries and create a place for alternative genres of Indian music....
India's prominent bands Jalebee Cartel, Shaa'ir n Func International, Pappon, Bandish Project and Midival Pundits are the groups who featured their unique sound to the album. Mummy Daddy Records in collaboration with Times Music has brought together the most progressive sounds that are fast defining the Indian music scene. Jack Daniel's the leading liquor brand were the sponsors for the evening.
At the venue one could make a stop at the rock- star booth to pose for photographs in all the funky gear that is available. You could have been the lucky winner and posed for the best three photographs and get a fine bottle of Jack Daniel's tipple besides sampling the goods at the bar. There were tee-shirts to buy, installations to look at and fantastic music to listen to in the great outdoors of the Garden of Five Senses.
