Dravidian varsity introduces diploma in classical music

MUMBAI: Two new courses diploma in classical music and bachelor of fine arts has been introduced by the Dravidian University.

This was announced by T. Ravi Prasad, Director of Distance Education, Dravidian Universtiy, on the occasion of second anniversary of Annapurna Memorial Academy (Gunupudi Area) of Bhimavaram.

Diploma in classical music has been started by the university for students who are keen to learn classical  music.

Speaking at the occasion T. Ravi Prasad said, "I would like to congratulate Ch. Kanaka Subba Raidu and his sons of Annapurna Memorial Musical Academy for encouraging music among girls free of cost."

Earlier students of the academy rendered some selected Thyagaraja, Annamayya and Purandhara Dasa keernans.
