Jannat's music is scorching the charts, the airwaves and the mobile!

MUMBAI: The recently launched album Jannat is not just creating melodious music but also making headlines by topping all music charts in a matter of just 3 weeks of release in the Indian market. Jannat's music has delighted its listeners and critics have lauded it with outstanding reviews. Today, the lead track Zara Sa is scorching the radio charts with a place among the top 2 across the nation, beating the competition from this year's biggies such as Jodhaa Akbar, Race, Saawariya, OSO, Jab We Met and Taare Zameen Par. Zara Sa is also the hottest new entry in the mobile download scene. On the retail and wholesale front, Jannat is among the top 3 albums in the charts in all the music stores.Jannat's album comprises of 6 melodious songs along with remixes of two songs. It opens with the soulful music track - Zara Sa, sung evocatively by KK. With the perfect blend of music by Pritam and lyrics by Sayeed Quadri, the track is already considered as the biggest love songs of this year.

The second track Judaai is already the underground hit - the latest number to rock the dance floors. With a smooth rock approach, Judaai is sung and composed by Pakistani singing sensation, Kamran Ahmed. The innovatively shot video featuring Emraan Hashmi is already a rage on TV.

Excited with the album response, Pritam said "Among all my compositions, Jannat has been one of my most challenging and gratifying albums so far. The response I have been getting is phenomenal; many say it's my best work till date. I have worked with a great team - Sayeed Quadri's lyrics and the unbeatable voices of KK, Richa Sharma, Rupam Aslam and Kamran Ahmed - their talent will surely create an unforgettable impression in everyone's heart."

It's now hardly surprising that Jannat was involved in a legal tussle for the music rights, with T-Series on one side and SONY BMG and Vishesh Films on the other. Considering the phenomenal music, it was no wonder that 2 of the biggest labels in the Indian music industry were battling it out. It had finally ended with T-series withdrawing its claims and Sony BMG maintaining its rights to the music. The Bhatt brothers have been known for their taste when it comes to quality music. Mukesh Bhatt added, "The music of Jannat is reminiscent of the days of the Murder, Raaz and Gangster. My phone hasn't stopped ringing, with people constantly calling to say what outstanding songs Jannat has! Reviews, ratings and response from the trade have all been just superb. I'm really thrilled. It's a great start to our alliance with SONY BMG"

Commenting on the music of Jannat, Mr. Shridhar Subramaniam, Managing Director, SONY BMG India added, "We began this year with the magnum opus of Jodhaa Akbar and now we have the colossal album of Jannat in our hands. To have such brilliant projects one after the other is any music label's dream. And it's a reality for us. We have always had great belief in the Bhatts' sense of good music, which has created many milestones in Bollywood. Jannat cements this conviction; it strengthens our association with Vishesh Films. The reaction from the market, listeners and critics is just the first phase. There is much more to come from this mammoth album - the music of Jannat is definitely something we will look back to and be proud of."
