Kritva 2009 comes to successful conclusion at IMI Delhi

MUMBAI: Highly appreciated performances by Rock group Euphoria brought to conclusion a widely participated Kritva 2009, the thirteenth edition of International Management Institute (IMI) Delhi's annual Cultural & Management festival at the IMI, Campus at New Delhi. The festival was organised in association with SAIL and TATA Indicom.

The event reached out to over 100 B-schools from across the country saw 
more than 200 teams participating for each of its competitions. It was also a packed IMI amphitheater with a crowd of nearly 4000 students from across Delhi that was present during the live performances.

Day one of the festival was inaugurated by one of the youngest union ministers of state Mr. Jyotiraditya Scindia, Minister of State for Commerce & Industry who put across his thoughts to the students and faculty of IMI, Delhi. He recollected his days as a B school student at Stanford and drew parallels between curriculum and the student mix developed by institutions here and the west. He urged the need for students to have a certain level of work experience to gain a proper industry perspective before coming to a B school and quoted his own example when he himself was too eager to pursue managerial studies after graduating from Harvard in 1993

Concluding that a politicians popularity is inversely proportional to the length of his speech, he ended his oration amidst a thunderous applause and went on to sit in amongst the students and interacted with them.

Live performances by Rock Band Motherjane brought to end the day two and three on performed to aplomb to over 2000 students from B schools across Delhi bringing and live the 2nd and 3rd days respectively.

Various B schools like IIMs, MDI,IIFT,IBS, LBSIM dropping in at IMI campus on participated in the events and competitions organized by the different clubs on day 2. Counter strike – The E-Cell game set the ball rolling with more then 15 participating teams. THREAT USE RUN, the treasure hunting competition organized by the operations club, followed with teams scrambling around South Delhi scouring for clues.

With colourful performances of children from Swashrit, an NGO which was provided by cash amount in charity collected from the students and faculty at IMI came the dance competition �Tapping Talents' with teams participating from IMT Ghaziabad, Amity Business School amongst a few which really had the crowd cheering and lapping up the performances. Citric, the rock band of IMI, stepped on stage and put forth a laudable performance with a mix of classic rock and a few groovy Hindi music numbers.

Econ IMI the Business Economics Club of IMI organized a 2 day event called The Shrill Quill. Four teams were selected on the basis of the 2000 words white paper which was selected by the teams. The winners MDI team walked away with a whopping Rs 20,000 prize. There was also another event called Erudite Photographer which saw a very enthusiastic response from B-schools all over the country. An IIM Indore team won the prize which very beautifully depicted how the recession was also a time for many opportunities. Promethean - The Marketing Club of IMI organized the TATA Indicom IMC Competition which drew teams from across the country.

The evening saw Underseige, a progressive metal band doing the opening act for Motherjane, which won the "Best International Rock Act" in 2009 at the Asian Voice Independent Music Awards. The metal heads at IMI were grooving to the chords and drumbeats, head bangers were seen in galore. Motherjane's performance evoked the loudest screams from the crowd and another day at Kritva drew to a magnificent close.

Coffee Couple was the event which kept the crowds hooked to the stage and entailed some really witty comments from participants.

Day 3 on 31st October 2009 was coloured in Rangmanch – the HR Nukkad Natak competition followed by E-Cell Launch pad. Ursa Taurus taking the participants back to the seventies where floor traders ruled. This was followed by Masquerade – The big theatre competition featuring teams from all over the country.

Coffee Couple was the event which kept the crowds hooked to the stage and entailed some really witty comments from participants.

Kritva 2009 hosted games in various verticals of management like Marketing, Finance, Human Resource, Operations etc. testing participants in real life management related scenarios to check their competence in analyzing and decision making.

Amity won the 2nd position in Tapping Talents and IMT Ghaziabad takes 3rdposition, LAN Gaming, and The Last Man Standing – HR Game won by IMT Ghaziabad, IBS business school got 1st position in KwizInc. – The inter college quiz and IMT Ghaziabad takes 2nd position, ICFAI takes 2nd position in Counter Strike – The Entrepreneur Strategy game, Vikreta – The Sales Event won by IIT Madras , Opilansa – The Operations Game won by NITIE, Threat Use Run – Operational strategy and Supply Chain Game won by MDI, FOSTIIMA won Recyclon – Marketing Plan game and XLRI takes second place, Rangmanch – The HR street play contest won by FORE, IIFT takes 1st position in Launchpad – The entrepreneurship contest and second place holder is IIM Ahmedabad , Ursa Taurus – The stock market game won by NMIMS, Movies ka Badshah – The movie Quiz won by IBS Business School.
