MUMBAI: Radio Mirchi Madurai is airing a 24 hour programme on all nine days of Navarathri festival.

We will not go off air for a second during this 9 days and it will be a 24 hour live show. It is first of its kind attempt in Madurai aimed at creating a record, says Radha Manalan, Programming Head, Radio Mirchi Madurai.

Nine Radio Jockeys will anchor the programmes (1 RJ will host continuously for 24 hours) based on the importance given to Ashata Lakshmi on all nine days.

On the first day of Navarathri festival a programme on Adi Lakshmi representing happiness and prosperity was aired with public sharing their happy incidents and the RJ's giving suggestions on how to be happy in life.

The Second day was devoted to Dhanya Lakshmi provider of agricultural wealth, programmes included talks on agricultural produce and others related to food grains.

Similarly, Radio Mirchi proposes to focus on goddesses Gaja lakshmi, Santana Lakshmi, Dhana Lakshmi, Vijaya Lakshmi and Vidhya Lakshmi in the forth coming days. All these shows aim at empowering women in different aspects of life. In addition to this every evening a local celebrity is called upon at Radio Mirchi Studio and a game of Snake and Ladder... is played with the help of listeners.

Radha Manalan, Programming head, Radio Mirchi said that it was great to the see the response of people in Madurai. Many times when the RJ says he feels tired, they had listeners visiting the studio with Fruits to wish them all the best.
