Radio Misty Partners with Lohri Punjab Di

MUMBAI: Green-and-gold bangles jingling to the rhythm of the dance, traditional gold-lined ghagras and salwar suits, red-and-green parandas' marked  the celebration  of Lohri,the Punjabi harvest festival at Siliguri. Radio Misty 94.3 fm, the First and Number one fm station of North Bengal and Sikkim partnered with Punjabi Biradari of North Bengal for Lohri Punjab Di.

Famous Punjabi Troupe Ranguwal and Party performed folk and modern songs. Traditional dances were performed on stage. People could have the taste of Maaki ki roti, sarson ka saag and other Punjabi cuisine.

The chairman of Punjabi Biradari G S Hora said that the first Lohri is considered significant, and is celebrated by families who have seen a wedding or a new birth in the previous year. Every year, we light a bonfire, and play games. It is an opportunity for the community to get together and bond. It's also a chance to give a glimpse of our traditions .Radio Misty was partner to this event last year also.

Says Nishant Mittal, Chief Executive Officer, Radio Misty this is the biggest festival. This festival is celebrated with people from every walk of life coming together. Radio Misty created Buzz round these celebrations. It was a wonderful experience .We aired live updates from the show to make listeners' dance to tune of Punjabi songs.
