Radio Misty partners with Theatre Festival

MUMBAI: Seven evenings of theatre shows to watch, theatre workshops to attend and lots of theatre history to feed on. From today, every day will be a feast for theatre buffs at the second Siliguri theatre festival. Radio Misty 94.3 FM, the first and number one fm of North Bengal and Sikkim partnered with Siliguri theatre Festival.

This event is being organised by theatre groups of Siliguri in association with the state information and culture department, Siliguri Corporation and Siliguri Mahkuma parishad. This event will continue till January 8. The weeklong fest will be inaugurated by theatre personality Rudraprasad Sengupta at Dinabandhu Mancha in Siliguri.

The festival this year is dedicated to former mayor Bikash Ghosh and Amal Chakra borty, a noted actor from Siliguri who passed away recently. It will also mark the birth anniversary of writer Manik Bandyopadhaya,... said Asok Bhattacharya, the urban development minister and the chief patron of the festival.

Theatre lovers will get to see productions by Harimadhav Mukhopadhaya, Ramaprasad Banik, and Gautam Halder along with others. The groups that will take part in the fest are Thoughts Arena, Little Thespian, People's Little Theatre, Rangpat, Gandhar, Chetna and Barasat Anusilani.

Radio Misty Chief Executive Officer Nishant Mittal said that this is the annual event for which people of city eagerly waits for a year. We have associated with this theatre festival and it's a proud moment for us. Radio Misty will air live updates, interviews and others from venue.
