I-Rock XXVI finalists announced

MUMBAI: The oldest rock fest in the country �Independence rock XXVI' is heading towards its final leap this weekend. The fest has selected its five finalists who will compete at �All-India Final' to be held on Saturday 26 November in Mumbai.

The five regional winners for I-Rock includes Pip of the Fourth Mother (Kolkata), Life (Pune), Aftertaste (Mumbai), Escher's Knot (Bengalore) and Arcane Deception (New Delhi).

The fest has also announced �Zepheroth' band as the winner of its new segment �MTS Red Energy Wild Card Entry' who will compete along with other five regional bands.

The National winner will get the opportunity to open the grand finale gig on 27 November in Mumbai.

Speaking with Radioandmusic.com, E18 CEO Farhad Wadia said, We have selected the best of the best from over 390 demos that we received.  These five bands that have made it to the finals in Mumbai are an extremely talented bunch and have gone through the most stringent competition in India. We wish them luck and one of them will be able to put on their resume that they won Independence Rock 26....

Apart from the grand finale concert in Mumbai, the fest will also host concert in Pune, Delhi, Bangalore and Kolkata where the other regional winners will perform.

The Grand Finale Concert will be broadcasted live on MTV and VH1.
