MCAI confers Sanjay Tandon as honorary member

MUMBAI: The former director general of Indian performing rights society (IPRS), Sanjay Tandon, was recently bestowed with the honorary membership of the Music Composers Association of India (MCAI) at their AGM.

Legendary composer Shri Raviji honoured him with a plaque and shawl. Also present at the occasion were Lalit Pandit, Ram Sampat, Leslie Lewis, Surender Sodhi, and Raju Singh.

Raviji said, "I am happy that we are able to recognize Sanjay's contribution to our Copyright struggle and I am all the more happy that I have always been there on all of Sanjay's landmark occasions like this."

On receiving the membership, Tandon said, "I am proud to receive the recognition  and the membership of MCAI and I think this is the third best thing in my life that God could give me -- first giving me an opportunity to serve IPRS, 2nd my wife, and 3rd now getting this honor. I am sure that the community of artistes are surely going to strengthen in future and they being musical gods, will get justice at the end".

Sanjay Tandon, is also the vice-president (Music & Piracy) at Reliance Big Pictures. He has spent more than two decades in crusading the cause of rights for lyricists and composers and has been a guiding force to the creative community.
