Mirchi calls for entries for 6th Kaan Awards

MUMBAI: Radio Mirchi has announced its call for entries for the 6th Mirchi Kaan Awards, the awards to felicitate creative excellence in radio advertising.

Instituted in 2004, the Kaan Awards are an acknowledgement of creative excellence on the airwaves that gets rewarded amidst great fanfare and celebration. Continuing with the ongoing battle against mediocrity in radio advertising, the theme for the 6th Mirchi Kaan Awards is in sync with the political scenario of 2009. This year's awards will be held against the backdrop of the 2009 Kaan Sabha General Elections with the rallying slogan - �Vote against Mediocrity'.

Beginning 1 February 2009, Radio Mirchi has invited agencies to register the best of creative talent for the work aired for the first time from 1 January 2008 to 31 December 2008.

Says Mirchi CEO Prashant Panday, Like every year, Mirchi Kaan Awards is a platform for the advertising fraternity to showcase its creativity, reward individual accomplishment, and set new standards against which future advertising will be judged. As we move ahead with the 6th Mirchi Kaan Awards, we are not only confident of receiving more entries and an overwhelming response; also we will definitely look for the creative pieces that have made our industry proud and given the much needed voice to the brands.
