MySpace unveils new music player

MUMBAI: MySpace has unveiled an online music streaming service â€?MySpace Music Player, that provides free unlimited  listening, radio mode,  search functionality and instant sync capabilities allowing people to share its library.

The social entertainment site has signed a licensing deal with Sony, Universal, EMI, Warner and other independent labels, acquring the global rights of more than 42 million songs.

The player also includes features like �MySpace's DNA' - for promoting and enabling music sharing and discovery, and �facebook integration,' which allows people to listen and share their selections on facebook.

MySpace COO Chris Vanderhook said, "MySpace has unmatched access to signed and unsigned artists who need a platform to get their music out. The new player is our commitment to fostering the artist-fan connection--not only allowing people to play their favorite songs, but also offering suggestions to unearth new favourites. Through the Facebook integration, we're extending the discovery process across networks, allowing music fans to circulate their playlists and recommend top picks to all their friends."

The MySpace music player is also available on mobile devices.
