Paul McCartney launches online remix project for fans

MUMBAI: Legendary singer Sir Paul McCartney has launched an online version of his home recording studio, giving fans a chance to remix his songs.

The Beatles legend has uploaded four tracks, including the title song from his hit 1973 album ‘Band on the Run’ on his official website. Utilizing digital technology, users can adjust the effects, echo levels and volume of the instruments used in the tracks like drums, guitars, keyboards and vocals.

The users can send the tracks to McCartney through a Dropbox file-sharing site. The singer will then upload his favourite remixed version on the online music streaming service Soundcloud.com.

A post on the website stated, “In 1971, Paul and (wife) Linda escaped London to their farm in Scotland. At the farm, Paul had a little studio put in so that he could demo, experiment and make music. That was Rude Studio. Now you can experiment with Paul’s music online at New Rude Studio.”
