Sahara One flags-off cross border singing reality show 'Sur-Kshetra'

MUMBAI: Sahara One has introduced a new music reality show Sur-Kshetra, inviting singers from Pakistan to compete against their Indian counterparts and display their vocal talent.

Noted singer-music director turned actor, Himesh Reshammiya, will captain the Indian team of singers while singer turned actor from Pakistan, Atif Aslam will lead the team from across the border.

The auditions will kick-start from 24 December, 2011 in Lucknow and Kolkata, covering a total of six cities in India and three cities from Pakistan. The selected entrants will further undergo various levels of rigorous selection processes and a select team of musical warriors from both nations will be carved out.

Commenting on the launch, Sahara One Media and Entertainment Ltd director Boney Kapoor said, ...Sur-Kshetra is Sahara One's mega reality music show. Sahara One is growing consistently and is on track to reach the top five with plans drawn ahead to scale even greater heights. And to begin with what better than a show like Sur-Kshetra, with the best of singing talents from two arch-rival nations, India & Pakistan, competing against each other....

Sahara One Media and Entertainment Ltd asst director worker Suresh Mishra said,... With our new musical show - Sur-Kshetra, we are making an attempt to revive the golden era and to bring forth the best of talents from India and Pakistan for our viewers....

Sur-Kshetra will be produced and directed by Gajendra Singh of Saaibaba Telefilms, he said,... Music has always inspired me to explore new avenues. With �SUR-KSHETRA' we aim to touch newer heights and create a new musical world. I thank Sahara One, and especially Boney Ji to have given me such a challenging opportunity and I am really excited about it.'
