Swaraaj for ChillOm and Times Music

MUMBAI: Ethnic electronic artiste Tatva Kundalini released the album Swaraaj under the Times Music label on Monday night in Mumbai.

Consisting of 12 tracks, Swaraaj is a compilation album and features nine artsites like Aguaflames, Ambrish, A.I.A, Key Fx, Surbahar, Latrama, Kliment, Infra and Taamara from India. The album was launced by well known percussionist Taufiq Quereshi.

For this album, Times Music has collaborated with ChillOm records - an ethnic electronic label founded by Aditya Anand a.k.a Tatva. "I had been rejected by Times Music seven years back, many other labels threw my demos out, but I knew that whenever I would release an album it would be under Times Music label," said Tatva. Tatva has been spreading his sound for a couple of years with an array of instruments like nagadas, djemebes and dranyen. Tatva has been featured on various international compilations such as Cafe Del Mar and Buddha Bar, besides being featured alongside artists such as Talvin Sing and DJ Spooky.

"It's great to see people who were in the audience till a few years back release their own album," said Quereshi. Quereshi was let off by the audience only after he obliged them with his trademark vocal jam session. Post the launch, Tatva along with Taamara played some mystical grooves for the audience.

Tatva and Taamara are also scheduled to play at the coveted Sunburn festival in Goa starting on 27 December, noon onwards.

Swaraaj is available under the Times Music label for Rs 195.
