Times music releases Yagna`s debut album

MUMBAI: Yagna`s debut album Baarishein was released by Times Music on 24 August 2007.

The album features 13 songs which delve on subjects ranging from eternal love to the social conditions in modern India. The album has been named after its title track Baarishein, which melodiously portrays the change in the emotions and moods of people as they welcome the monsoon.

Yagna is a team of enthusiasts, Arnab, Saum, Shomi and Rohan, who sing, write and compose their own music.

The band was formed in July 2005 in Auckland with the intention of creating music that would blend ethnic melodies with Indo-western orchestration to present a refreshing acoustic flavour to an industry deafened by synthetic sounds.

The band has also produced and directed two music videos for their songs Baarishein and Guzre Lamhe. The former was shot in a quintessential Bengali para in Kolkata to reflect the nuances and moods of the city as the monsoon sweeps in. Guzre Lamhe which was filmed in Auckland, New Zealand depicts the anguish and pain of having to go through life with reminisces intruding from the past.
