VH1 revamps content for Independence Day

MUMBAI: For Independence Day, VH1 has revamped its daily-show line to honour Indian artistes and bands that have made mark on the international music front.

The special show �Vh1 India Rules' will honour artistes and bands such as AR Rahman, Jay Sean, Raghav, Nitin Sawhney, Niladri Kumar, Indus Creed, Pentagram and many more.

The show will also feature special performances by the pioneer Indian bands including Indus creed, Pentagram, Brahma, Talvin Singh, Asian Dub Foundation to the contemporary bands such as Shaair N Func, Jalabee Cartel, Scribe, Them Clones, Supesonic  On 15 August, the performance will take place all day long and will be promoted on-air and via digital space.

Speaking with RadioandMusic.com, VH1 head Ferzad Palia said, We have planned special content for 15 August. The special program will honour established and reputed Indian singers and contemporary rock bands that have made a mark for themselves within the nation as well as internationally for their music. Vh1 will also change the channel bug, introducing India Idents for the day....

To celebrate the flavor of Independence Day, VH1 will premiere Oscar winner AR Rahman and Superheavy's latest single �Satyameva Jayathe' along with the special video created by Vh1 viewers.
