MUMBAI: In the new era of digital revolution music portal �India Gig Alert', is encouraging and promoting independent recording artistes, bands, DJs, photographers and other music industry members, by providing them a platform to showcase their talent.

The three month old website provides indie related queries with professional assistance to local bands and international industry personnel. Along with IGA, B69, Bluefrog and Nh7 calendar, the portal has a very interesting �DIY Resources' section with relevant information specially for event organizers about Sound Engineers(Live/Studio) Production Managers, Photographers, Stage and PA Sound Providers. The website also hosts a CD bazaar for labels and independent bands/musicians to sell and promote their music, �India music news' section consisting of all music news from different blogs and �India gig capture' for professional photographers.

Speaking on the launch of the website, �India Gig Alert' owner Husain Bandukwala says, Through my experience in the indie scene for past nine years, I have created �India Gig Alert' for upcoming artiste to promote themselves. The site was launched in June and the success in these three months has been phenomenal....

Bandukwala points out that �India Gig Alert' team is looking at creating a strong base and goodwill for independent music scene. He says, The indie scene is the next best thing to hit our country. The artistes are phenomenal and fans are looking for change. We hope we can bring this harmony together. We want to assist as many partners as possible and eventually get into more businesses and services to better the indie scene. We are constantly looking for fresh ideas from innovative thinkers and would love to take it forward....

Currently, there are no advertising or network partners roped in for the website. Bandukwala confirms, The idea is to build good robust site, post feedback and learning. We are always open to ideas and collaborations, but for now are sole motive is to serve and help the community. We are also enrolling quite a few well known International acts through First Contact Agency and the list will be on the site soon. Lots more interesting collaborations are in process and will be announced soon....
