U Me Aur Hum

Music Director - Vishal Bharadwaj

Director - Ajay Devgan

With Ajay Devgan getting on the Director's chair for the first time, he wouldn't experiment a lot with music for sure; since in most films, the music makes or breaks the film. Hence, Vishal Bharadwaj is a very sensible choice for the music composer. As far as lyrics are concerned, this album does have some real good surprises.

The first track Dil Dhadka, sung by Adnan Sami and Shreya Goshal, is a brilliant opening to the album. This track, if for nothing else, will be highly appreciated for its lyrics. The practicality in the female lyrics makes a huge difference to the song. In addition, the music is quite enjoyable. This track will go on to be a chartbuster for sure. Hats off to Munna Dhiman for penning down the song so well!

The next track is one that has been in the limelight for a long time now. Jee Le, sung by Adnan Sami and Shreya Goshal again, is an enjoyable track with a feel of Salsa in it. The track progresses very well and keeps the listener at a high till the end. The song is very well composed; with both the male and female lead vocals complementing each other. This track has already made its space in the hearts of listeners and the video of it definitely takes the song to an altogether different level.

Phatte reminds one of the song Chak De Phatte if one goes by a reading of the title alone. Phatte is very Punjabi due to its composition but thankfully, a little off-track as compared to those typical Bollywood Punjabi songs. The lyrics once again turn out to be brilliant as in Dil Dhadka. However, the song sounds more like those songs from Hum Tum and Esha Deol starrer track Boys are Best. Nevertheless, it is the Punjabi spirit of the song that keeps it an edge away from the rest.

A very lighthearted track describing a female's humorous take on her husband is what Saiyaan is all about! Sung by Shreya Ghoshal, the music is quite enjoyable and so are the vocals. Owing to the interesting lyrics, the song will entertain the audience more much mor© than it will be appreciated for its music. If the video of this song is cool enough, one can expect this song to create some stir on the music charts.

The title track U Me Aur Hum comes with solo vocals but in two versions. The one sung by Shreya Ghoshal is a very love-filled track. The background vocals sound amazing and the English lyrics make this track a brilliant present day song. The male version sung by Vishal Bharadwaj himself is quite a free flowing track too and is a good listening experience.

Thankfully, Vishal himself has not come up with any remixes for these songs. However, very soon, the remixes are expected to be all over the place. Once again, Vishal has done a good job as a composer and Munna Dhiman has done a splendid job as a lyricist. If the songs are shot perfectly, then U Me Aur Hum will be the next musical blockbuster of 2008. So, wait and watch!
