MUMBAI: Are you running short of a playlist this Diwali? If yes, have a look at the list given by some of the best RJs in the country. These will help you celebrate the festival of lights with more triumph and joy.
RJ Nitin (OYE FM): ‘Aaj Ki Party Meri Taraf Se’ (Bajrangi Bhaijaan) and ‘Party All Night’ (Boss) are must play songs during Diwali as the festival is all about celebrating. ‘Hum Saath Saath Hain’ (Hum Saath Saath Hain) is another must play track as it is also about spending time with family and friends.
RJ Devangana (Tadka): Diwali is about spending time with family and friends and ‘Prem Ratan Dhan Payo’ (Prem Ratan Dhan Payo) explains that sentiment well. Everyone also worships Goddess Lakshmi during Diwali hence, the song ‘Paisa Paisa Karti Hai’ (De Dana Dan). The next song on my list is ‘Dholi Taro Dhol Baaje’ (Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam). It is a celebratory song that showcases the sentiment of Diwali.
RJ Krihpa (Suryan FM): For me, Diwali is about just having fun and the songs that go with my celebratory mood are ‘Nagada Sang Dhol Baje’ (Ram Leela), ‘Nagada Baja’ (Jab We Met) and ‘Prem Ratan Dhan Payo’ (Prem Ratan Dhan Payo). One can also dance to these numbers, which makes them better.
RJ Shiv (Radio City): The first apt song for Diwali is ‘Mein Toh Avi Avi Lut Gaya’ (Band Baja Barat). This is one song that explains a father’s situation during Diwali. They go bankrupt after buying clothes and crackers for their kids. The second song is ‘Chammak Challo’ (Ra One) for all the women dress up in Indian wear during this festival. The last song will be ‘Tere Hoke Rahenge’ (Raja Natwarlal). This song is for all the kids who get engrossed in bursting crackers.
RJ Pritam (Red FM): ‘Mere Tumhare Sabke Liye Happy Diwali’ (Home Delivery) is a complete Diwali song, so it is a must-play during this time. Diwali is also about celebrating wonderful moments; therefore ‘Aaj Ki Raat Hona Hai Kya’ (Don) is a good play. Expenses exceed during the festival of lights and a song that fits right in this situation is ‘Aamdani Atthani Kharcha Rupaiyaa’ (Aamdani Atthani Kharcha Rupaiyaa).
RJ Sidhu (Fever): ‘Jai Dev Jai Dev Jay Mangal Murti’ is one song that brings in the flavour of the season. Plus that is one song that one plays to impress God, and every new thing begins with Bappa’s name. The next song is ‘Hum Saath Saath Hain’ (Hum Saath Saath Hain) as I miss my family during Diwali. Moreover, it is beautiful to watch families come together during this festival. The next song is ‘Prem Leela’ (Prem Ratan Dhan Payo) as it is all about celebration.
