MUMBAI: South Korean based company Samsung has released its slimmest smartphone in the form of the Galaxy A8. The latest addition to Samsung’s long list of smartphones is also rather tech-savvy as it features a finger print sensor. The smartphone has a bezel design and an ultra thin metal body.
The Galaxy A8 features a 5.7 inch HD Super AMOLED display and a resolution of 1920×1080 pixels that can go up to 386 ppi. The phone is powered by a 1.8GHz octa-core Exynos 5430 processor coupled, and has 2GB RAM for optimum performance. It also includes 32 GB internal memory, which can be further expanded to 128GB using a microSD card. The Galaxy A8 runs on Android 5.1.1 Lollipop and offers dual SIM connectivity.
In terms of camera, the Galaxy A8 has a 16 megapixel primary camera, which offers features like auto focus, geo tagging, face detection, HDR and Panorama. Meanwhile, the secondary camera is 5 megapixels and includes 120 degrees of wide angle lens.
The device has a 3050 mAh battery and can run upto over 300 hours on standby. The Samsung Galaxy A8 also supports, 4G LTE, dual-band Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, NFC and Bluetooth 4.1 as part of its connectivity options.
Weighing about 151 grams, the Galaxy A8 is available in Pearl White, Midnight Black, and Champagne Gold and is priced at Rs 32,500.
