Bollywood composer Ravindra Jain passes away

MUMBAI: For the past few days, news about composer Ravindra Jain’s health had been making rounds. Unfortunately, the composer passed away on 9 October, 2015 at Lilavati Hospital, Mumbai.

A source close to Jain, expressed his grief and said, “He is no more. He passed away at 4.20 pm. We are not yet aware about the last rites, and will let everyone know about the same very soon. Everyone, including his wife Divya and his brother- Manindra, were with him when he passed. ”

The ‘Ankhiyon Ke Jharokhon Se’ composer was suffering from urine infection, which affected his kidney. He was kept on the ventilator and was put on 24-hour dialysis. He fell ill on Sunday, 3 October in Nagpur, where he was supposed to partake in a concert planned quite a while ago. However, he was unable to participate in the event owing to health issues, and was later admitted to Wockhardt Hospital.

Doctors at the hospital declared his condition was serious, after which he was airlifted from Nagpur and was flown to Mumbai on 7 October, 2015.

Jain had composed music for hit films like ‘Chor Machaye Shor’, ‘Geet Gaata Chal’, and ‘Chitchor’ in the 1970s.
