Daler Mehndi to sing for Aamir Khan's 'Dangal'

MUMBAI: Indian pop musician, Daler Mehndi, is from that breed of musicians that has been consistent when it comes to his work. And it is probably this consistency that has always ensured there is no dearth of work for the talented singer/songwriter/performer. In fact, if an industry insider is to be believed Mehndi has bagged a track in Aamir Khan’s next film ‘Dangal’.

After creating ‘Safai Ki Dhun’ to promote PM Narendra Modi’s ongoing cleanliness campaign early this month, the ‘Bolo Ta Ra Ra Ra’ singer will be seen singing a track in ‘Dangal’, for which Bollywood composer Pritam has created music.

As per media reports, this is not the only film song that Mehndi has worked on. He has also recorded the title track of Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra's upcoming film ‘Mirziya’, and composer trio- Shankar Ehsaan Loy are behind the music for this film.

‘Mirziya’ is a modern-day adaptation of ‘Mirza-Saahiban’, and its story and screenplay have been written by famous lyricist Gulzar. He has also written the lyrics for the songs in the film.

The film will launch ‘24’ star Anil Kapoor’s son, and Bollywood diva- Sonam Kapoor’s brother- Harshvardhan Kapoor. The movie is under production and is slated to release in 2016.
