MUMBAI: Taylor Swift has a natural ability of making the headlines no matter what she does. Whether it is her dating life, taking on streaming services or simply going out of her way for her fans, the pop star, more often than not, can be found in the news. However, this time it is for setting a new record.
The singer-songwriter, who is currently busy with her ‘Taylor Swift: The 1989 World Tour’, definitely had a great show at Lexington, KY (20 October, 2015) but what made for a bigger news was the second single from her ‘1989’ album- ‘Blank Space’. The track is currently the highest viewed video in the history of Vevo with 1,234,599,596 views (as of now). Vevo broke the news and congratulated the 25-year old singer through Twitter.

‘1989’ is Swift’s fifth studio album, which sold 1.2 million copies in its first week of release, making her the first artist since 2002 to have album sales of over one million. Three of the album’s tracks- ‘Shake It Off’, ‘Blank Space’ and ‘Bad Blood’ reached number one on the Billboard Hot 100, her two latest tracks- ‘Style’ and ‘Wildest Dreams’ peaked at number six on the chart.
With her latest achievement, the ‘You Belong With Me’ hitmaker has managed to surpass Justin Bieber’s ‘Baby’, which was named the highest viewed video on Vevo in 2014.
