MUMBAI: Manoj Muntashir is one of the most wanted lyricists in the Indian music industry at the moment. The musician is so busy at the moment that his calendar includes 50 music releases for 2016. However, the song that Muntashir is most looking forward to presenting is his track from the Rajkumar Hirani Film- ‘Wazir’.
Muntashir has been writing a number of songs for most of the upcoming Bollywood films like Neeraj Pandey’s ‘M.S. Dhoni: The Untold Story’, Milan Luthria’s ‘Baadshaho’, Prakash Jha’s ‘Jai Gaangajal’ and A.R. Murugadoss’s ‘Akira’. But it is the track in ‘Wazir’ that is giving him restless nights. “This song is the driving song of the film and it will play at an interval of 30 minutes throughout the film. Seldom do you have everyone’s thoughts match when it comes to a particular song. This is one of those songs. I am very happy with the way this song has hit the right notes lyrically,” he said.
The lyricist also believes that this song is his best with ‘Sun Raha Hai’ singer Ankit Tiwari. “Ankit and I have worked together on a lot of projects, but this one is my best with him. This will be another ‘Galliyan’,” stated Muntashir, who saw immense success with ‘Galliyan’.
The film happens to be his second project with Vidhu Vinod Chopra – ‘PK’ being the first one - who also happens to be one of the producers of ‘Wazir’. The other two producers are Aquib Khan and Rajkumar Hirani, and the film has been directed by Bejoy Nambiar, with Shantanu Moitra as music composer.
‘Wazir’ stars Amitabh Bachchan, Aditi Rao Hydari, Farhan Akhtar, John Abraham and Neil Nitin Mukesh. The film is slated for release on 4 December, 2015.
