Singer Rachel Platten collaborates with Indian NGO for video

MUMBAI: Creative genius Harun Robert has come up with a video titled ‘The Wall of Dreams’ with children from Indian NGO Akanksha Foundation that goes with American singer Rachel Platten's hit single ‘Fight Song’.

Sony Music, in collaboration with the non-profit organisation, saw an opportunity in using ‘Fight Song’ to spread awareness on the importance of educating children from underprivileged backgrounds.

"So inspired by Akanksha Foundation work to empower children with the skills and education to make biggest dreams come true. Fight Song is a part of spreading message. Love this beautiful video," Platten said in a statement.

Featuring Robert, the video sees him through the magic of colours, paint and visual artistry transform a wall in one of Mumbai’s defunct mills, bringing to life the dreams of the eight children, and children everywhere. The children helped him paint the wall.

“'Fight Song' has been my inspirational song and when I was invited to create a wall art and be a part of this initiative, I totally jumped at it. It was great working with these kids, their enthusiasm kept my spirits up throughout the day," said Robert.

The video showcases the dreams of the eight children infused with the song and its lyrics.

"The 'Fight Song' demonstrates our fight against all challenges and we hope to make a small difference in reforming the education system in India," said the Akanksha Foundation CEO Vandana Goyal.

Arjun Sankalia, director: International Repertoire, Sony Music India, said that when they heard ‘Fight Song’, they saw an opportunity to "align with Akanksha, and create a video that would raise awareness for this cause.”

Comedy Central channel will air the video through the month of November 2015.
